Fan-made educational content
CosBuild tutorials are independent, fan-made educational guides that teach cosplay construction, styling, sourcing, makeup, wig work, prop-making, sewing, foam work, photoshoot setup, and similar techniques.
You may reference characters, franchises, brands, official products, and supplier links, but you must not present your content, CosBuild, or any tutorial as official, licensed, sponsored, approved, or endorsed by any rights holder unless you have written permission.
Build safely
Cosplay builds can involve sharp tools, blades, heat guns, soldering irons, hot glue, adhesives, resins, paints, solvents, spray paint, fumes, sanding dust, electronics, 3D printing, chemicals, and other hazards.
Where a step carries risk, include clear safety warnings and practical protective measures, such as ventilation, gloves, eye protection, masks/respirators, heat protection, adult supervision, drying/curing time, and manufacturer instructions.
Do not publish dangerous instructions without appropriate warnings.
What you must not upload
You must not upload, link, or submit:
- stolen, pirated, counterfeit, or misleading content;
- anyone else’s work unless you have permission;
- official art packs, ripped game files, scans from art books, official screenshots as paid/downloadable materials, logos, badges, emblems, 3D model files, or official assets unless you have permission;
- official logos, art, or branding used in a way that misleads people into thinking your tutorial is official;
- counterfeit product links or products that appear to falsely claim official/licensed status;
- unsafe instructions without warnings;
- illegal content or instructions;
- hateful, harassing, exploitative, or abusive content;
- sexual content or anything that sexualises minors;
- misleading claims, spam, malware, phishing links, or harmful sites.
Be accurate and honest
Describe your tutorial honestly, including difficulty, what is included, what is not included, materials/tools needed, estimated build time, estimated material cost, and what buyers should expect.
What buyers receive should match the sales page.
Links and recommendations
Product links must be relevant, safe, and not knowingly counterfeit, pirated, illegal, or misleading.
Tutorials may include links to legitimate third-party products, including official or licensed products sold by retailers, but those links must not falsely suggest that CosBuild or the tutorial is affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holder.
If a link is an affiliate link or may earn CosBuild or the creator a commission, it must be disclosed clearly where required. Affiliate features may not be live at MVP.
Enforcement and removals
CosBuild may reject, edit, unpublish, remove, disable, or restrict content or accounts for quality, safety, legal, rights-holder, payment-provider, fraud, banking, or platform-policy reasons.
Buyers generally keep access to tutorials they purchased while live, unless CosBuild must remove, disable, or restrict access for legal, safety, rights-holder, payment-provider, fraud, chargeback, technical, or platform-policy reasons.
Repeated or serious violations may lead to loss of creator access.
